# Supernatural Season 16? Oh, Really—Revival Updates & Speculations
Supernatural enjoyed an epic run, spanning fifteen seasons of monster hunting, evading death, and somehow elevating classic rock to new heights. However, when it concluded in 2020, many fans weren’t exactly thrilled with the finale. The pandemic interfered with the last episodes, reducing the cast and leaving a bit of bitterness. Now, whispers of a revival are hotter than a Winchester in his signature leather jacket. But will we actually see Dean and Sam return? Let’s explore.

## Is Supernatural Making a Comeback?
**Quick answer: Nope, not officially.** Warner Bros. Discovery hasn’t announced anything, but the buzz is definitely there.
Creation Entertainment, the team behind many fan conventions (including ones for Supernatural), recently released a commemorative coin for the show’s 20th anniversary. The intriguing part? Instead of stating **2005 – 2020**, it playfully says **2005 – ?**. Pure coincidence? Perhaps. A big tease? Also, possibly.
### What the Cast Has Indicated
Jared Padalecki (Sam) and Jensen Ackles (Dean) have been keeping things lively at conventions, dropping hints that they’d be open to it. Ackles even mentioned that real conversations are taking place behind the scenes. It’s all very much a “stay tuned.”
Padalecki’s recent remarks:
> “If and when Supernatural returns, it’s going to be a labour of love… My short answer is yes. I just don’t know when.”
Subtle, Jared. Quite subtle.
Ackles has already revisited the Supernatural universe with his prequel, *The Winchesters* (which was short-lived). His production company, Chaos Machine, alongside his wife Danneel, has been active in launching TV shows, showing his passion for the franchise is still strong.
With all this back-and-forth, it feels more like a question of **when**, not **if**.

## When Might Supernatural Make Its Return?
The target year appears to be **2025**.
Padalecki mentioned years ago that they would look into it in five years, which would be… next year. But—plot twist!—Ackles is massively occupied with **The Boys**, a spin-off called *Vought Rising*, and some additional TV projects. Even Misha Collins (Castiel) has been engaged in significant ambassadorial duties in Ukraine.
So, even if the team desires it, their schedules might push **2026** as the earliest feasible option.

## Would This Be Supernatural Season 16 or a Reboot?
No one is making any definitive statements. Ackles hinted at a **shorter, serious, True Detective-style** follow-up, which could translate to a limited series hyper-focused on the brothers’ final case.
Or they may choose to reboot the entire show for nostalgia’s sake. Let’s hope it’s not that.

## Who Might Return for Supernatural Season 16?
If it does occur, expect the sacred trio of **Sam, Dean, and Castiel**.
Other familiar faces that could reappear:
– **Jack Kline (Alexander Calvert)** – Last seen as the new deity.
– **Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver)** – Because Bobby always finds a way.
– **Rowena (Ruth Connell)** – The Queen of Hell.
– **Crowley (Mark Sheppard)** – Here’s hoping they resurrect him instead of ignoring his existence… again.
– **Jody Mills & Donna Hanscum** – Fan favorites and total badasses.
If they incorporate The *Winchesters* cast, we might even see younger John and Mary (Drake Rodger and Meg Donnelly).

## What Could Season 16 Center Around?
### Addressing *That* Conclusion
Look, we need some damage control. Dean meeting his end on a rusty nail? Lame. Sam’s blurry spouse? Embarrassing.
A revival could present them a **true** final quest—perhaps in Heaven, confronting one last significant threat before a genuine reunion.
### Time Travel & The Multiverse
*The Winchesters* introduced **alternate realities**, so it’s not far-fetched to suggest Dean could navigate through time, making adjustments. What if he altered his own fate? What if he changed everything?
### Dean & Cas’ Unresolved Matters
Episode 18 of season 15 featured **Castiel confessing his love for Dean**, only to be immediately pulled into The Empty. Dean never replied. It was akin to a message left on ‘read’ for eternity.
If a revival materializes, it seems likely we’ll finally witness that conversation.
### Familiar Foes
– **The Empty** – One of the series’ most formidable cosmic threats.
– **Chuck/God** – Perhaps someone discovers a way to resurrect him.
– **Lucifer** – Because Mark Pellegrino dominates the scenery like no other.
Alternatively, they could unveil **a brand-new antagonist**, perhaps tied to the multiverse.

## Where Would It Air?
This is where things could get complicated.
**The CW?** Nope. The network seems to be distancing itself from genre shows and appears far more interested in sports. Plus, Padalecki has been throwing some serious shade their way.
**Max (formerly HBO Max)?** Most likely. It’s under Warner Bros. and seems like a solid choice.
**Prime Video, Netflix, or Another Streaming Service?** Possible, but not probable.

## How to Rewatch Supernatural Now
Want to relive the entire epic?
– **UK:** Seasons 1-15 are available on **Amazon Prime Video**.
– **US:** Accessible on **Spectrum**, or you can purchase seasons digitally.
And if you’ve never experienced it… what on earth have you been doing?

## Summary: “The Journey So Far… And Maybe Further?”
So, will Supernatural make a comeback? No official announcement yet. However, with all the hints, it seems **more likely than not**. The guys just need to find a moment in their busy schedules. If it happens, expect fan service, a few ‘70s rock tunes, and hopefully a proper farewell for Dean and Sam.
Until then, have your salt circles prepared—just in case.
