The Wick Universe Takes a Ballerina Spin
Alright then, all you folks who’ve been glued to the John Wick flicks like my Jack Russell to a stray biscuit crumb, pay attention: we have a new lady stepping into the bullet-dancing chaos. Set in the John Wick universe: Ballerina is the latest blood-soaked spin-off – and no, it’s not Keanu leading this time, love.
This one features Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a deadly dancer hailing from the same shady school of assassins that produced Wick. With pirouettes and firearms at her disposal, she’s out for vengeance after someone took out her father. Classic Wick themes – sorrow, retribution, and a level of gun-fu that makes Liam Neeson look like a kid with a foam dart blaster.
Positioned between Chapter 3 and Chapter 4, this film awkwardly slips into the timeline, much like me trying to fit into my trousers after a Sunday roast. But with moody lighting, fierce glares, and precise murder choreography, it could turn out to be a true gem. Or it could end up being another dull spin-off clinging to the Wick name like my mum holds onto her 90s Take That albums. We’ll see in June.
When Will Ballerina Tickets Be Available?
Tickets are already flying out the door for this one, so if you’re into adrenaline-pumping action and watching Ana de Armas wreak havoc in heels, now’s your chance to book your cinema spot. The movie hits UK and US theaters on Thursday, 5 June 2025.
That gives you just enough time to binge all four John Wick films, debate with your friend about which one’s the best (it’s Chapter 2, don’t argue), and get yourself ready for two hours of skull-crushing ballet slaughter.

I personally suggest the Everyman if you fancy a pint and some gourmet snacks with your mayhem – makes the carnage a bit more civilized, you know.

Whether you’re in Newcastle or New York, there’s no excuse. Unless your excuse is that you’ve never seen John Wick. In that case, what are you even doing here? Go correct that.

Ballerina isn’t just your grandma’s Sunday afternoon movie – this one’s packing more knives than Swan Lake and has more brutal take-downs than a CrossFit lifting session. Tickets are out now, dropping hard like a kettlebell on your foot, and if you’re any sort of Wick enthusiast, you’ll want to be front and center for this intense ballet showdown.
Catch it early, or be that silly person who’s spoiling it for yourself on TikTok while the rest of us are enjoying a grand time at the cinema with overpriced nachos and a stomach full of Tango Ice Blast.
And just remember – for all your TV, tech, and action film ticket gossip, there’s only one daft Geordie you need to keep an eye on.
