Jumper EZBOOK S5 Review: A Proper Balance of Performance and Portability
Alreet, lads and lasses! Today, I’m diving into the Jumper EZBOOK S5, a 14-inch laptop promising some cracking performance without breaking the bank. Let’s see if this budget beauty stands up to the Geordie GadgetLad’s test.
Performance & Specs
Under the bonnet, the EZBOOK S5 runs on an Intel Celeron J4105 processor, peaking at 2.5GHz. Aye, it’s not going to win any speed records, but it’s functional for everyday office stuff and a bit of Netflix. Equipped with 12GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, it’s poised for decent multitasking and swift boot-ups. If you reckon that’s not enough storage, throw in an additional 256GB TF card. Rival laptops like the Lenovo IdeaPad Series or the Acer Aspire Series offer similar specs but often at a higher price point.
Design & Portability
Now, nobody likes lugging a brick around, and that’s where the EZBOOK S5 shines like the Tyne after rain. It’s a mere 1.24 KG and only 1.55 CM thick. Slip it in your bag and get cracking. Comparatively, the MacBook Air may have a fancier name, but it’s also got a fancier price. This gizmo gets you all the portability without emptying your pockets.
Connectivity Options
In terms of ports, it’s got more options than a Greggs’ pasty lineup: two USB ports, a headphone jack, and a Mini-HDMI port for external displays and projectors. If you’re used to adapting with dongles on a MacBook, this bird’s a welcome change. Not exactly revolutionary, but for a budget laptop, it’s well-kitted out.
Audio & Graphics
The EZBOOK S5 rocks HD Audio, decent enough for your Spotify sessions. Don’t expect Dolby Atmos, but your tunes will not sound like they’re coming from a tin can either. The integrated HD Graphics 500 does a fair job if you’re not pushing it with high-end gaming. Casual games and HD streaming are right at home here.
Who’s It For?
If you’re a student, a professional needing a back-up laptop, or just someone who can’t justify dropping a grand on a laptop, the EZBOOK S5 is worth a gander. It’s ideal for word processing, web browsing, streaming, and light multitasking. But if you’re editing the next blockbuster video, stick to your pricey MacBook Pro or Dell XPS.
So, if you’re after bang for your buck and aren’t fussed about flashing the latest brand at your local café, the Jumper EZBOOK S5 won’t let you down.
