“Agatha Returns on Disney+ – Check Out When You Can Tune In | GadgetLad”

After her playful escapades in *WandaVision*, Agatha Harkness returns to stir up more trouble in the Marvel universe. The newest trailer depicts her gathering her coven and embarking on a questionable journey down the Witches’ Road – sounds rather cozy, doesn’t it?

Agatha, who you may recall from her reveal as *Agnes*, the inquisitive neighbor who turned out to be a fabulous witch, aimed to snatch Wanda’s powers in *WandaVision*. Audiences were enamored with her sharp tongue and humor, so it’s no shock that Marvel has greenlit her own spin-off. Here’s the scoop on Agatha and her upcoming series.

Agatha All Along release date

Brace yourselves, as the hilarity and mayhem commence on **Wednesday, 18 September 2024**, with the first two episodes premiering on Disney+. The series, cheekily dubbed a miniseries, will consist of **9 episodes**.

If you were settling in to enjoy this show in 2023, too bad. Strikes in Hollywood postponed everything – classic over there, right? But at least you’ve got a solid date to mark on your calendar now.

What time do new episodes of Agatha All Along release?

Here’s the twist for those of us in the UK. While our American friends get the first two episodes on **Wednesday, 18 September 2024 at 9pm ET/6pm PT**, we unfortunate souls have to wait until **2am BST** the next day, **Thursday, 19 September**. Lovely, innit? Who doesn’t enjoy a restless night?

After that, fresh episodes will be released weekly at the same hour. So clear your Thursday mornings, everyone.

Agatha Harkness series official title

Check this out – the show’s title has been shuffled around more than a football on game day. Initially it was **Agatha: House of Harkness**, followed by **Coven of Chaos**, and then someone thought **Darkhold Diaries** sounded brilliant. But they weren’t finished yet.

On **13 May 2024**, **Agatha: The Lying Witch with the Great Wardrobe** popped up on social media, but that was swiftly pulled – a bit cringeworthy, eh?

In the end, they settled on **Agatha All Along**, which fits nicely with that viral song from *WandaVision*. The whole title-changing fiasco? Clearly Disney trying to keep us on our toes. Very crafty, indeed.

Who is Agatha Harkness?

If you’re a true comic book aficionado, Agatha first appeared way back in **Fantastic Four #94** in 1970, crafted by **Stan Lee** and **Jack Kirby**. She started her journey as a nanny – think Mary Poppins with a rather sinister twist. She looked after Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman’s son, Franklin, but lo and behold, she’s one of the oldest witches lurking about, recalling events like the sinking of Atlantis. Atlantean catastrophes? Check. Salem witch trials? Been there, done that, wore the pointy hat.

She’s not one to underestimate. In the comics, Agatha was a kind of magic mentor to Wanda initially. But when things turned sour, Wanda exposed her in a significant way and let’s just say, Agatha didn’t fare too well.

In *WandaVision*, she wasn’t exactly the mentor. More like the ‘I’m-gonna-take-your-powers’ villain. By the end, Wanda ensnares her in the “Agnes” persona. In *Agatha All Along*, however? She’s back, but stripped of her powers. Time to traverse the Witches’ Road to reclaim them. Just another typical Wednesday for Agatha.

Agatha All Along plot

**Spoilers coming your way, mate. You’ve been warned.**

At the conclusion of *WandaVision*, Wanda confines Agatha to Westview, forcing her to live the monotonous life of a suburban Karen dubbed “Agnes.” In *Agatha All Along*, the crafty Agatha manages to escape, but, surprise surprise, she’s devoid of all her magical abilities. Enter Rio Vidal, an old acquaintance, and together they embark on a dark, magical escapade to restore her powers.

Sounds a bit dreary, eh? But fear not. **Marvel** assures plenty of hilarious moments, complete with musical numbers like that catchy ‘Agatha All Along’ hit from *WandaVision*. Rumor has it one of them is titled **‘Down the Witches’ Road’**, which we heard about at D23. Sounds silly, but I’m all in.

Here’s a little glimpse of episode 1:

> *In the first episode, we see Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) finally break free from a binding spell. She’s eager to return to her old nefarious ways, only to discover that she’s stripped of her powers. The only path left for her is to embark on a perilous quest to reclaim her abilities with the help of an unexpected companion or two.*

The series twists elements from pop culture witches like **Elphaba** from *Wicked*, and there are talks of trials that lead to fulfilling your deepest desires – think of it as a dark, magical *Yellow Brick Road*. Plus, for special effects? They’ll be doing many practically instead of relying on CGI. Good on them, I say.

Agatha All Along cast

So, who’s in the lineup? **Kathryn Hahn** is back reprising her role as Agatha. But she won’t be alone in this. Here’s who else will be joining the fun:

– **Debra Jo Rupp** – Sharon Davis/Mrs. Hart
– **David Payton** – John Collins/Herb
– **Asif Ali** – Abilash Tandon/Norm
– **Kate Forbes** – Evanora Harkness (Agatha’s mother)

There are also fresh faces entering the fray:

– **Sasheer Zamata** – Jennifer Kale, a sorceress
– **Joe Locke** – Teen (a bit mysterious)
– **Miles Gutierrez-Riley** – Hulkling, who happens to be Billy Maximoff’s boyfriend

Oh, and you won’t be catching **Elizabeth Olsen** in this go-around. Sorry, Wanda fans.

Agatha All Along trailers

There are a couple of trailers available now, both worth checking out. The first teaser adopts a gritty crime drama feel – Agatha seems primed for action.

In the second trailer, we delve into her coven. Looks like a barrel of laughs.

Additionally, there’s a live performance from **D23** featuring that new track, **The Ballad of the Witches’ Road**. Not sure about you, but it’s hella catchy.

And for the cherry on top – there’s another clip teasing a character reveal, but his name’s all bleeped out. Everyone’s speculating it’s either **Billy Maximoff** or **Billy Kaplan**.
