Google’s taken a look at the Instagram app on Android devices, and guess what? Yep, it’s been draining your battery like it’s on a bender. But don’t panic, a solution is in the pipeline, and it could rescue your treasured phone.
Reported Instagram Battery Drain Issue
Certain Android users, particularly those with Samsung Galaxy and Pixel models, have noticed their battery life shorter than a London drizzle. Seems Instagram’s been the sneaky fiend, depleting it quicker than your paycheck after payday.
A kind soul on Reddit pointed out that while WhatsApp and Facebook were consuming 2.4% and 5.3% respectively over approximately 50 minutes, Instagram was munching through an astounding 12.4%.
Some users attempted to revert to older app versions, but that only made their phones hotter than a summer’s day. Others opted for the Instagram Lite app, a bit like swapping out your full pint for a half. Not the best choice, eh? Thankfully, a remedy has been introduced.
