Fusion5 A90B+ Pro: A Neat Little Laptop or Just More Geordie Guff?
Alright, so what we’ve got here is the Fusion5 A90B+ Pro, this little number is waving the flag for budget laptops everywhere, flashing a dirt-cheap smile with its specs. But does it belong on the coveted mantelpiece of must-have tech, or is it just all mouth and nee trousers? Let’s find oot.
Screen and Design: Now, if you’re all about the visuals, this 14.1-inch Full HD IPS display that’s on offer here may just tickle your tech taste buds. None of that grainy nonsense, this one’s got more pixels than Greggs has sausage rolls. That screen’s grand for binge-watching the latest boxset while snuggled on the settee. But keep in mind, it’s got the integrated Intel HD graphics—not winning any high-end gaming awards, but it’ll probably handle the odd game of Solitaire, if that’s your bag.
Power Under the Bonnet: Its Dual Core Intel Gemini Lake Refresh processor manages the bants with snappy performance—nothing flash, but it’ll get you through the daily grind of Word docs and spreadsheets. It’s got 4GB of RAM, so dinna expect it to keep up with ‘big lads’ of the laptop world. This isn’t for your editing fancy videos, like. But for the day-to-day browsing and emails, it’ll get the job done while you enjoy your cuppa.
Speed and Storage: It’s boasting of ‘terrifically’ fast 5GHz Wi-Fi, saying it’s twice the speed of some other lesser laptops, but let’s be real, it’s not ganna make your toast for you in the morning. With 64GB storage, yer ganna want to make use of that M.2 expansion. Add-ons could fill the gaps left in storage, if you’re planning to keep your whole life’s worth of Spotify playlists and cat videos.
Use and Comfort: Looking at the full-size keyboard and generous trackpad, it’s a bit like getting a sunroof in a Fiat Punto: unexpected but very welcome. It’s perfect if you type like a madman or love to swipe around more than a lad on Tinder.
Warranty and Customer Support: Fusion5 offers a full 12-month UK warranty, so if it conks out after a night on the tiles, you’re covered. That’s some peace of mind, like wrapping yourself in a tech comfort blanket.
Comparison: Compared to its fellow budget laptops, this little gem does hold its own. It’s not quite as titillating as something like the Lenovo Ideapad 3, which offers a smidge more power for a similar price. But if you’re counting the pennies and need a trusty sidekick for everyday tasks, this Fusion5 is worth a gander.
Who’s it for?: Ideal for students, or the casual user just dipping their toe in the tech world, like. If you’re a Newcastle lad on the go, wanting to blend tech goodness with saving for your next pint, this might just be the ticket.
