Into the Digital Lions’ Den
Alright, mates, picture yerselves headin’ to a job interview but instead of a real person, ye’ve got somethin’ straight out of a sci-fi movie. Job Bolt, a startup doin’ its part to make things weirder, has invented these AI avatars for job interviews. Aye, sounds like a dodgy episode of Black Mirror, doesn’t it?
First Impressions of a Robo-Interviewer
So envision this: ye’re all decked out, ready to impress, and there’s this eerie digital puppet starin’ at ye on yer screen. It’s meant to be professional, but it feels like its circuits are crossed somewhere. “GadgetLad” had to give it a try, and let me tell ye, it was like bein’ in the uncanny valley with no way to escape.

Body Language Nonsense
One thing’s certain, ye cannae woo these avatars with yer typical Geordie charm. They don’t react, don’t nod, probably don’t even have a clue what a Greggs’ pasty is. The thing’s just gazin’ at ye like a haddock. Real unsettling, I tell ye.
Technical Glitches and Nonsense
Now, ye’d assume they’d fix the issues before tossin’ us in the deep end, but no. It’s like tryin’ to explain the offside rule to me Nana, just not gettin’ through. The replies it shot back were like a poorly dubbed episode of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.

The Verdict: Gannin’ Back to Basics
After givin’ this whole digital spectacle a whirl, I reckon stickin’ to good old-fashioned face-to-face is the way to go. At least ye know where ye stand – or sit – with a real person. These AI avatars are as useful as a chocolate teapot in an interview context.
If an employer asks ye to do this, demand a practice run so ye can learn the ropes of this bizarre new realm
Job Bolt’s AI avatars for interviews? It’s like givin’ a monkey a typewriter and expectin’ Shakespeare. Gadgets are me jam, aye, but this is one job application journey I’m not signin’ up for again unless I’m lookin’ for a nightmare.
