Galaxy S27 Ultra Set to Receive a Battery Upgrade, According to GadgetLad

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 hasn’t hit the shelves yet, but the spotlight is already shifting to its upcoming features. The internet is quite unpredictable, isn’t it?

The Dutch site GalaxyClub has shared information about the Samsung Galaxy S27 lineup – particularly the battery technology in the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra models.

As per the site, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to feature a 5200mAh battery, while the premium Galaxy S27 Ultra will boast either a 5700mAh or possibly a 5800mAh battery.

The former is a newly introduced model, so there’s limited information regarding these claims. Conversely, the latter continues the trend set by the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which has a 5000mAh battery, marking six consecutive years with this capacity.

This amounts to a potential increase of 14 to 16%, which could represent a significant enhancement.

Samsung’s Battery Evolution

We’ve been anticipating Samsung to enhance the battery capacities in the Galaxy S series for a long time. Competitors like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Honor have clearly surpassed them.

The company is understandably cautious about advancing battery technology due to its complicated history with devices catching fire – a concern that recently resurfaced.

This rumor suggests that Samsung is finally integrating Silicon Carbon (Si-C) technology, enabling them to incorporate more compact batteries without making your phone excessively thick.

The same site also mentioned that these devices will likely come with 50Mp main and ultra-wide lenses, and they might include a sophisticated 16Mp square front camera, reminiscent of the iPhone 17.

We’ll have to wait until January for Samsung to reveal its new Galaxy S series. In the meantime, stay tuned for our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 reviews.
