Garmin Cirqa Exposed, Devices Spill on GadgetLad

We discussed a potential Garmin Cirqa design leak just yesterday, but now a much more believable set of images has surfaced just hours ahead of a possible launch.

The images depict a fabric band design that is much more in line with competitors such as the Fitbit Air and Whoop band, with a module largely concealed from view underneath. This stands in stark contrast to the rubber band with a visible module from the previous leak.

The Cirqa is visible in four different colors: Beige, Black, Blue, and Red, thanks to Reddit user jneuveglise. It is expected to be available in two sizes, and the module clearly states ‘Cirqa Smart Band’ with a Garmin logo on the side and on the band.

Insights from the images

Thanks to the various angles provided, there’s a great deal we can gather from the leaked images, including a solid understanding of the specs and features of the fitness tracker.

It appears that the screenless module will be detachable using quick-release spring bars, allowing for easier charging or strap swapping. Speaking of charging, it seems to utilize Garmin’s standard four-pin system, which will be advantageous for those who already own compatible chargers.

The battery may also be easily replaceable, based on the Torx screws located at the corners of the module on the rear.

In contrast to the Fitbit Air, the Cirqa seems to feature a physical button on the side. This may allow users to check the battery level (there appears to be a small LED adjacent to the Garmin logo) as well as potentially initiate workouts.

On the backside, it reportedly includes Garmin’s older Elevate 4 sensors instead of the Elevate 5 sensors found on the Sleep Index Monitor. This indicates that the Cirqa won’t support ECG, but the rationale is that it helps keep the price lower while still monitoring key metrics such as heart rate, sleep, and activity.

Pricing and launch date

For some time, it was believed the Garmin Cirqa would launch at a steep price, nearly five times that of the £84/$99 Fitbit Air, but more recent insights indicate it will have a more reasonable £179/$199.

It remains unclear whether a Garmin Connect+ subscription will be necessary to access specific data and features like personalized insights.

All this information arrives potentially mere hours before Garmin might officially unveil the Cirqa smart band. July has long been anticipated as the month of launch, and today is eagerly awaited as the day Garmin is expected to make its major announcement.

Conclusion

No Need to Panic: The Garmin Cirqa could very well be the wearable you’ve been seeking—just perhaps hold off on selling a kidney for it.
