What’s Brewing at Google HQ?
Google’s getting ready to unveil the Pixel 11 series of smartphones in two weeks. There are whispers that the Pixel Watch 5 could also make an appearance, but there’s buzz about a third device debuting at the Made by Google event.
Not Exactly a Fitbit Smart Ring
I would have bet my left shoe that this new gadget from Google was bound to be a Fitbit smart ring, but it appears more probable that it will be a Bluetooth tracker. When the hype around the Pixel 11 series leaks emerged with their flashy colours, the Amazon listings revealed a ‘Google Pixel Tag’ as an accessory for phones.
The Great Pixel Tag Enigma
No one has caught sight of the little rascal yet, and the listing didn’t disclose much about this Pixel Tag. Speculations about a tracker have been circulating for ages, so perhaps Google’s finally taking action.
An Obvious Move, Right?
You’d assume this would be a slam dunk for Google, considering they already have the Find Hub to track down your friends and devices.
Ideal Partner for Pixel Phones?
If this Pixel Tag indeed materializes, it could be the ideal companion for Pixel phones and entice users to switch to Android. It would be competing against the Apple AirTag 2 and other trackers from Motorola, Samsung, Tile, and others in the market.
The Anticipation Continues
Google’s been quite reserved without hinting at this device as part of the rollout. The real surprise is the absence of leaks and regulatory sightings this close to the launch date.
Save the Date, Folks
We’re keeping our hopes up, wishing for the best. We’ll get the scoop on 12 August.
Conclusion
Tag, You’re It!
In conclusion, Google is working on something with this Pixel Tag, but who can say for sure? Perhaps it’s real, or maybe it’s just a fleeting thought from tech fantasies gone by. We’ll find out soon if Google plans to deliver a tracker that allows us to play hide and seek with a bit more flair.
