HP Blue Laptop 8B2L2EA Review: A Geordie’s Take on a Thin, Dependable Kip
Alreet, lads and lasses! Let’s gan on with this HP 8B2L2EA laptop, as blue as the Toon Army. HP reckons it’s thin, dependable, and got that expansive screen malarkey. Sounds class, right? But before ye start splashing the cash, let’s dig deeper, aye?
First off, this bad boy’s sporting a 14-inch anti-glare screen, grand for them who work best in a pub, erm, I mean, a bright room. It’s got 128 GB of storage, which is canny for chucking files about, but ya won’t be hoarding entire box sets on here. The real kicker here is the Intel Celeron N4120 processor and 4 GB of RAM. If you’re looking to run GTA V on this, you’ve lost the plot, mate.
What it’s great for? Browsing the web, doing some light work, and pretending yer busy when you’re actually scrolling through Facebook. For the price, it gets the basics done and comes with a year of Microsoft 365 – all the Word, Excel and PowerPoint you can stomach. Handy if you’re like me and gotta bash out reports for the suits at work.
Battery life? HP claims it’ll keep you grafting all day long, and the fast-charge technology means you can gan from 0 to 50% battery life in about 45 minutes. Not too shabby, but don’t expect it to last an entire transatlantic flight, unless ya fancy playing battery roulette with the flight’s charging ports.
In terms of design, it’s got a 6.5mm micro-edge bezel, making the screen-to-body ratio 78%. You’ll look dead stylish carrying this around, but careful not to drop it, as it’s much thinner than yer granny’s cooking.
If I were to compare this HP laptop to others, I’m looking at the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 and Acer Aspire 1. Both give this HP a run for its money in terms of price and performance, but they might make ye look like you’re carrying a brick. The Lenovo’s got a bit more RAM, and the Acer might offer a tad more storage at similar price points. Choose yer battles pally – weight and looks vs. specs and storage.
So, who’s this daft blue HP laptop for then? It’s spot on for students, those working from home more often than being in the office, or anyone who wants a second laptop for casual use. If you’re a hardcore gamer or need heavy-duty capabilities, you’d be better off looking elsewhere. For everyday tasks, bit of work, bit of play, this notebook will be your trusty sidekick.
In summation, if you’re after a cheap, cheerful, and dependable macchina for light use, the HP 8B2L2EA could do the job. Just don’t ask it to perform miracles, alright? Now gan get yersel a bacon sarnie and a cuppa, and think about it!
