Details of the Moto Edge 70 Plus
This week at the IFA 2026 tech exhibition in Berlin, Motorola revealed several new products, including the Motorola Edge 70 Plus mid-range smartphone along with a new MagSafe-inspired wireless charger.
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus showcases an 8.49mm-thick quad-curved plastic format with a weight of 196g. It holds an IP64 rating, which is not particularly impressive for a mid-range device by today’s standards, although the military-grade MIL-STD-810H durability is appreciated.
On the brighter side, it houses a sizable 6500mAh battery and offers support for 45W wired charging – although it seems the era of more affordable Motorola devices with wireless charging capabilities is behind us.
It does allow for bypass charging, meaning you can charge the phone while gaming without overheating. However, the Motorola Edge 70 Plus may not be ideally suited for such activities.

Specifications and Performance
Continuing an unfortunate trend observed in recent Motorola devices, it operates on a chip that falls short of its pricing tier. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 performance showcased here was earlier seen in the Nothing Phone (3a), a device that launched over a year ago for £200 less.
Cooling is supported by a vapor chamber, coupled with 8GB of RAM and options for either 128GB or 256GB of storage.
The display appears impressive: a 6.78-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 2772 x 1272, HDR10/10+ compatibility, a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, and peak brightness reaching 5200 nits. This is accompanied by dual speakers that support Dolby Atmos.
There’s a new 200Mp primary camera included, representing the highest resolution ever utilized by Motorola. However, the inclusion of a dedicated 2Mp macro camera instead of both a dedicated telephoto and ultra-wide lens is a bit disappointing. Additionally, there is a 32Mp front-facing camera.
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus is set to be available for pre-order in the coming weeks, with a starting price of £499.99 for the 128GB model, rising to £529.99 for the 256GB version.
It joins the latest lineup of Edge 70 models, including the Edge 70, Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Ultra, and Edge 70 Fusion.
Moto Snap Magnetic Wireless Charger
The newly introduced Moto Snap is a Qi2.2 wireless charger that delivers wireless charging speeds up to 25W for compatible devices and up to 30W for certain Motorola gadgets. This follows Google’s Pixelsnap accessories, which debuted with the Pixel 10 series last year.
If you’re questioning why Motorola would unveil such a product alongside a phone that lacks wireless charging capacity, that’s quite a valid inquiry.
Nevertheless, Motorola does have a Qi2.2-compatible device in its product range, the Motorola Edge 70 Max, which was revealed back in July.
Motorola
Motorola asserts that the Moto Snap is “designed for efficient, cooler charging with zero standby power usage.”
It comes packaged with a 1.5m braided USB Type-C cable and can also be optionally combined with a stand featuring a soft silicone-lined holder and an aluminum hinge for adjustable viewing angles.
The Moto Snap will retail for £39.99, with sales expected to begin on 24 September and inventory anticipated in October.
In conclusion, Motorola is once again serious about smartwatches
Conclusion: Is the Edge a Hit or Miss?
And there you go. A device that seems on the brink of greatness, yet may require a little push. Additionally, a charger that feels somewhat enticing unless you have the right phone. Are they worth keeping or merely a short-lived fling? Only time will reveal!
