Moto X70 Air’s Trim Debut
Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto X70 Air, its entry into the ultra-slim smartphone market, which is expected to arrive in the West as the Motorola Edge 70.
The Moto X70 Air is now featured on the Lenovo China website (with Lenovo being the parent company of Motorola) ahead of its launch on 31 October. It details all the phone’s specifications, some of which prompt inquiries about the company’s plans for a global release.

Undoubtedly, the standout feature of the X70 Air is its slim design. Indeed, we can confirm that it has a thickness of just 5.3mm and weighs only 159g. That’s even lighter and thinner than both the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air.
Interestingly (at least to me), these specifications do not align with the 5.99mm thickness and 170g weight that Motorola confirmed for the Motorola Edge 70 in its recent quiz-style marketing. Many had believed these models would be virtually identical, but this indicates otherwise.

Motorola Moto X70 Air Specifications
It won’t be due to the battery since both models feature 4,800mAh batteries. While that may seem relatively small in isolation, it significantly surpasses the battery capacities of the Galaxy S25 Edge (3,900mAh) and the iPhone Air (3,149mAh). This can be attributed to silicon-carbon technology.
Chargers, Displays, and Processors—Oh My!
The X70 Air also supports 68W charging. IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance adds a valuable feature.
At the forefront of the Motorola Moto X70 Air is a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.
It is driven by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, categorizing it as a lower-tier device compared to its ultra-slim competitors.
We anticipate the next segment of Motorola’s Edge 70 teaser quiz shortly, where we hope to gain further insight into how the X70 Air differs. Currently, it doesn’t seem to align with our initial expectations, which is actually quite intriguing.
The Final Call on X70 Air
Thus, the Moto X70 Air makes its entrance in China. It possesses the potential to be something distinctive, though somewhat enigmatic with its specification discrepancies. But as the locals say, “shy bairns get nowt,” so here’s hoping the Edge 70 has some unexpected features in store!
