What’s Happening with Oura Ring 5?
Oura stands as the leading name in smart rings, embraced by stars and athletes globally. Its upcoming model, the Oura Ring 5, was previously speculated to debut in late 2027, but fresh information indicates it’s coming much sooner than anticipated.
When’s It Launching?
So soon, in fact, that it will officially happen tomorrow on 28 May. The Ring 5 will also be available for pre-order on that day, ahead of a 4 June release date.
Leak News from Reddit Users
The news originates from a leak on Reddit, which seemingly displays a launch timeline document for the device, along with additional details.
Keeping It Charged
Once again, you can purchase a charging case allowing you to recharge the Oura Ring 5 battery wherever you are. It offers a much more streamlined solution than a conventional docking station, helping it compete with key rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Ring. The case has the capability to charge the Ring 5 up to four times before needing to be recharged itself.

Fork Out for the Additional Gear
However, the case isn’t included with the Ring 5, so you’ll have to pay extra for this feature. For reference, the Oura Ring 4 Charging Case costs £99/$99 and must correspond to the size of the ring you wish to charge. I would anticipate the price for this accessory to remain unchanged.
The Same as Before?
The document also implies that numerous Oura Ring 4 users may not be too eager to upgrade. The new ring, it states, is “crafted to preserve the same health-tracking capabilities and membership features familiar to Oura Ring 4 users”.
No Innovative Sensors?
Thus, it seems that the Ring 5 won’t introduce any significant enhancements to sensors. Additionally, any software updates to the Oura app will presumably also benefit users with older versions – starting with the Ring 4.
Design: Smaller, Enhanced, Quicker, Stronger?
The emphasis for this generation seems to be on the design, which is described as “more compact and comfortable”.

Yes, It’s Thinner, But Is It the Slimmest?
Those finding the Oura Ring 4 or other smart rings too bulky might be interested in this sleeker model. Whether it’s the slimmest and lightest available remains uncertain, but if anyone can accomplish it, it’s Oura.
Ceramic Edition the Horizon?
It’s also uncertain if the Ring 5 will be offered in a Ceramic Edition like its predecessor, but it seems probable that it will be introduced subsequently, following the colorful and resilient Ceramic Edition of the Ring 4 (as shown in the above image).
Colors and Materials: Add Some Glam
The previously leaked design appears to align with the image in this latest document leak, reportedly coming in a new Deep Rose shade, alongside black and silver in either glossy or matte finishes. These will all be crafted from metal, presumably titanium once more.
Pricing and Final Thoughts
There’s still a lot to uncover, including the cost, but we won’t have to wait long if the 28 May launch date proves accurate. Stay tuned.
