The Upcoming Galaxy from Samsung Appears to Be a Bit Leaner
Samsung’s forthcoming high-end smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is opting for a different design path compared to the Pixel 10 series.
According to tipster Ice Universe, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is going on a slight diet, becoming thinner than its predecessor, sneaking in below the 8mm threshold. It’s also dropping a few grams. All of this while purportedly increasing its display and overall footprint. Quite impressive, right?
Contrasting with Pixel 10
Recently, there’s been chatter that the latest Pixel 10 series is beefing up universally. Supposedly, this is due to Google incorporating larger batteries. In contrast, Samsung remains with their tried-and-true 5000mAh battery for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
There’s also buzz that Google might bulk up their devices to accommodate a complete Qi2 magnetised charging system, potentially termed ‘Pixelsnap’.
So, does this more streamlined Galaxy S26 Ultra indicate that Samsung isn’t hopping on Google’s Qi2 train? Only time will provide clarity.
Shifting focus from size, Ice Universe also suspects Samsung is opting for a specialized overclocked ‘for Galaxy’ variant of the Snapdragon Elite 2 processor. Discrediting earlier rumors, it seems this chip will be manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung.

Now Bar Improvement
In other rumors surrounding Samsung, the recent Galaxy Z Flip 7 unveiling has shed light on the firm’s Now Bar widget.
As noted by Android Authority, Samsung announced that support for the Now Bar functionality is expanding from 20 to 35 apps with the upgrade from One UI 7 to One UI 8.
They have remained tight-lipped on which applications will join this handy heads-up widget but anticipate these new cards will be operational before the year’s conclusion.
Conclusion
Dimension Matters, Unless You’re Samsung: While Google’s Pixel 10 is bulking up as if preparing for a fitness competition, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is slimmed down for a glam night out. Kudos to Samsung for keeping it chic without compromising battery performance.
