Although the Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup is still relatively new, speculation is already buzzing about what next year’s models might entail. If you’ve opted out of the S26 series and are interested in upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy S27 series, here’s everything you should be aware of.
For several years, the Galaxy S26 series regrettably represented yet another incremental update to Samsung’s flagship line. While they are certainly not poor-quality devices, with the Galaxy S26 being an excellent compact option, and the S26 Ultra excelling in productivity, they don’t significantly diverge from their immediate predecessors.
We hope that the S27 series will bring about meaningful changes, especially since Samsung has conceded considerable ground to its rivals. The Oppo Find X9 Pro has now become our top choice for camera phones, while the OnePlus 15 has demonstrated the potential of combining a large battery with a 165Hz display.
There is much at stake with the Galaxy S27 series, so we will keep this page updated as more details emerge about these devices. By the time they are officially unveiled, you should have a solid understanding of their viability.

When is the Samsung Galaxy S27 set to launch?
- Anticipate a launch in early 2027, likely around February or March
- Samsung may revert to its previous launch schedule
Since the Samsung Galaxy S26 series remains new to the marketplace, we do not have a definitive or even speculated release date for the Galaxy S27 range as of now.
Nonetheless, there is ongoing speculation about whether Samsung will revert to its typical release timing following a postponed S26 launch.
In past generations, Samsung has generally showcased its new flagship series in January, followed by a release for public sale the next month. The S26 series, however, deviated from this pattern with a reveal on February 26, followed by a launch on March 11.
We hope to gain further insights into what Samsung plans as we move further from the S26 launch, and we will revise this section promptly if any updates occur.
For context, the release dates for prior Samsung Galaxy phones are as follows:
- Samsung Galaxy S26 – March 2026
- Samsung Galaxy S25 – February 2025
- Samsung Galaxy S24 – January 2024
- Samsung Galaxy S23 – February 2023
- Samsung Galaxy S22 – February 2022
- Samsung Galaxy S21 – January 2021

What will be the price of the Samsung Galaxy S27?
- Anticipate a base price of £879/$899
- The new devices might incur higher prices, although it’s not highly likely
It’s premature to determine what the starting cost of the Galaxy S27 series will be, but we would be astonished if the S27 did not begin at £879/$899. This assumption is based on the price hikes we already observed with the Galaxy S26 devices.
In light of global economic conditions and rising memory costs, accelerated by the AI race, all three Galaxy S26 models launched at higher prices compared to their predecessors.
For instance, the base S26 is priced at £80/$100 more than the S25, and this change includes an upgrade to a starting storage of 256GB as brands phase out 128GB models. This is not ideal, especially when consumers often lack the increased financial capacity to accommodate these price increases. However, the latest industry updates suggest yet another round of price hikes may be beyond Samsung’s control.
Reportedly, Qualcomm has already informed its main customers that its chip prices will rise by a double-digit percentage starting from September 1, 2026. Moreover, we have seen alarming reports indicating that the ongoing memory crisis may not stabilize until 2028.
There’s certainly a possibility that Samsung will attempt to absorb these additional costs for at least a year to avoid passing them on to consumers for two consecutive years, though this seems unlikely.
Below are the starting prices for previous Samsung Galaxy models:
- Samsung Galaxy S26 – £879/$899
- Samsung Galaxy S25 – £799/$799
- Samsung Galaxy S24 – £799/$799
- Samsung Galaxy S23 – £769/$799
- Samsung Galaxy S22 – £769/$799
- Samsung Galaxy S21 – £769/$799
