SGIN Laptop 17.3 Inch Notebook Review: Is it All Screen and No Substance?
Alreet folks, am here to jabber about the SGIN Laptop 17.3 Inch Notebook. It’s a monster of a lappy with its 17-inch 1920×1080 HD IPS display, claiming to be the whole package for college students and professionals who fancy a bit of everything from work to series bingeing. But is it all talk and no trousers?
Processor and Performance
Now, let’s chinwag about the heart and brains of this beast. It comes with an Intel Core i3-5005U processor, which might have been the bee’s knees in the 2010s but is now a bit like bringing a knife to a gunfight. Sure, it’ll handle casual tasks and give ya some multitasking chops, but don’t expect it to win any races against the latest lads on the market, especially with just 4GB of DDR3 RAM. If you’re looking at the likes of the Lenovo Ideapad with newer processors, you’ll find yerself shaking your head at the difference.
Storage and Expandability
For storage, you’ve got 128GB SSD, which is reassuringly quick but might get a bit cramped if you’re a digital hoarder. The good news is you can bump it to 1TB with an extra SSD – handy for those who like their files close and personal. In comparison, some of the ASUS Vivobook series offer similar upgrade paths, though often starting with more generous RAM configurations.
Battery and Connectivity
Fancy a 8,000mWh battery for those long sessions away from the plug socket? SGIN reckons you’ll be in good shape, but real-world performance might not live up to that promise, especially if you’ve got everything cranked up to the max. Type-C port, HDMI, USB 3.2 ports, headphone jack, and a MicroSD card slot all bolster versatility but are fairly standard on other laptops like the Dell Inspiron range.
After-Sales Support
SGIN’s bigging up their 1-year after-sales service, saying their team’s on the batphone within 12 hours. But, let’s face it, it’s nowt special in the world of tech support, where promptness is the norm.
This massive screen beast is ideal for someone who rates screen real estate and basic performance over raw speed and power – maybe your local student or someone doing basic work tasks. If you’re a hardcore multitasker, creative pro, or a gamer, just give this a pass and drop some more dosh on something a bit beefier. Remember, you get what you pay for in the world of tech!
