# The Brutalist Hits Digital in the US & UK – But Is It Worth Your Time?
Here we go again – yet another Oscar-worthy spectacle designed to keep us glued to our seats for what seems like an eternity just to demonstrate its importance. *The Brutalist*, helmed by Brady Corbet, has earned ten Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and a few acting mentions. The film has also garnered accolades at numerous award ceremonies, taking home three Golden Globes and five trophies at the Venice International Film Festival.
This narrative revolves around Hungarian-Jewish architect László Tóth (Adrien Brody), who endures the Holocaust and relocates to the US to pursue the American Dream. With the support of industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce), he dives into creating a massive structure intended to secure his future—and that of his wife Erzsébet (Felicity Jones).
It’s certainly an epic, spanning a staggering 3 hours and 35 minutes (and yes, there’s even a 15-minute intermission, as the director acknowledges this film is a marathon). There has been some debate regarding the incorporation of AI in the film—because naturally—yet it’s being recognized as one of the most innovative films of the year. Sounds intriguing, but if you’re not ready to shell out cinema ticket prices, here’s when you can catch it at home.

## Final Thoughts – *The Brutalist* or Just Brutal?
Look, if you’re drawn to grand dramas that make a bold artistic statement, *The Brutalist* is likely right up your alley. If you have a short attention span (like my own little troublemaker), this might feel like an endurance challenge. Either way, it’s already available digitally, with physical and streaming options on the horizon. The ball’s in your court.
Would I recommend it? I can’t say—I was too busy lifting weights and catching something with more explosions instead.
