Prepare for the Warmth
A heatwave is coming, so now is the moment to gear up and purchase a fan. If you delay, you’ll have plenty of moments to lament it while tossing and turning, unable to rest in a warm, cramped bedroom. The fans we’ve gathered here have all survived the heatwave challenge – we’ve tested each one at home (or on the go, for travel fans) and can confirm they are among the finest available.
Top Selections Before the Heat Hits
By utilizing each fan for a prolonged period, our team has observed precisely how effectively it maintains comfort, whether any included smart functionalities are genuinely beneficial, the operational costs, and its noise levels during use. We’ll provide you with all the details you require before you spend your hard-earned money.
- Our highly-rated selection, the SwitchBot standing circulator fan, is priced at £84.99, reduced from an RRP of £99.99 on Amazon. If you don’t possess Prime, you can obtain the same price directly from SwitchBot by applying the voucher code APAP15.
- The Honeywell Turbo Force Power Fan (which we haven’t evaluated) is marked down to a steal at £27.59, also available on Amazon.

This fan ranks among the most energy-efficient models we’ve examined. As a 24W device, it incurs less than a penny per hour to operate on a typical UK tariff – even at maximum speed. Additionally, it operates cordless, with the battery lasting through the night before needing a recharge.
It can function in either standing or desk mode, and is light enough to move from room to room effortlessly.
There are three methods to operate the fan: through the control panel on the base, which can be tricky in standing mode, via the included remote, or using the app, which offers you scheduling options and precise adjustment of fan speeds, ranging up to one of 100 settings. It also has the ability to oscillate both vertically and horizontally.
The fan is nearly silent (22dB) at the lowest setting and remains impressively quiet even at peak speeds. While it may not be the most powerful fan we’ve assessed – but does anyone truly rely on the higher settings? Regardless, it’s adequately powerful to maintain your comfort.
Though it lacks an onboard thermostat, this fan’s energy efficiency means it doesn’t require an ambient eco setting. However, I did find myself missing the temperature display that the Meaco Sefte provides, for instance.
You can integrate this fan into your smart home configuration (it supports voice commands through Siri, Alexa, and Google Home), but to access full Matter compatibility, you’ll need to connect it with a SwitchBot Hub.
