Release Dates: Awa’ Get Yer Calendar Out
Alright, gather yersel’ – Wednesday season 2 is finally on its way, and the dates are set tighter than a Geordie lass’s hold on her handbag in the Bigg Market.
Netflix, after being as quiet as a bairn with a mouthful of biscuits, unveiled the release like a dazzling finale at The Toon on New Year’s Eve. We’re gettin’ the season divided into two parts – aye, just like they did with Stranger Things, and folks moaned about it but still tuned in.
- Part 1 (4 episodes): Arrives on Wednesday, 6 August 2025.
- Part 2 (another 4 episodes): Premieres on Wednesday, 3 September 2025.
Now let’s not overlook, we were supposed to get this in 2024, but then the Hollywood crew went on strike and left us all hangin’ like lemons. Filming kicked off again on 30 April 2024 and wrapped before Christmas – at last, some serious effort from that bunch.
Plot Twists: More Drama Than a Group Chat Fallout
If ya think season 1 tied everything up, love, ya might wanna double-check that. Goody Addams’ ghost is probably still roaming the woods chuffed she got some airtime, but there’s plenty left hanging.
The Stalker Returns?
At the conclusion of season 1, our beloved goth queen receives eerie messages and photos. Aye, just what we need – another nutcase with a camera lurkin’ in the bushes. Could be tied to Thornhill, or perhaps a totally new player with a grudge as big as St. James’ Park.
Tyler – Still A Big Angry Werewolf
That werewolf nutcase made a break for it. Whether he’s after a hug or a tussle with Wednesday is anyone’s guess – but it’s bound to blow up.
That Cult Craic
Can’t have a decent supernatural teen series without a dodgy cult, and Bianca’s mum brought one back like last season’s terrible leftovers. Expect some ritual shenanigans and dramatic hoods, likely.
School Troubles
Nevermore’s headmistress has passed (RIP Weems), and now we’re left wondering who takes charge. Also, Wednesday and Xavier’s ‘romance’ might’ve hit a dead end – which, let’s face it, suits her just fine. She’s definitely not your Love Island type.
Forget Romance – Bring On the Blood
Jenna Ortega’s told Variety they’re ditching the teen drama to focus on horror. About time! Less smooching, more slashing.
The Cast: Gaga, Legends & A Couple of Oddballs
Lady Gaga: Queen of Weird Joins the Dark Side
Aye, you heard it right. Lady “I Wore a Dress Made of Meat” Gaga is in Wednesday season 2. No info yet on her character, but if she doesn’t invoke spirits while singing jazz, I’ll be surprised.
Returning Cast: The Usual Creepy Crew
We’ve got all the regulars back for round two, including:
- Jenna Ortega – Wednesday Addams (obviously)
- Emma Myers – Enid Sinclair
- Moosa Mostafa – Eugene
- Georgie Farmer – Ajax (still sounds like laundry detergent)
- Joy Sunday – Bianca (Queen of the side-eye)
- Naomi J. Ogawa – Yoko
- Catherine Zeta-Jones – Morticia
- Luis Guzmán – Gomez
- Isaac Ordonez – Pugsley
- Fred Armisen – Uncle Fester (still gives me the creeps like me Uncle Alan)
- Jamie McShane, Luyanda Lewis-Nyawo – The police, basically
New Faces: Big Names, Mad Characters
Let’s talk about the fresh faces. Ready?
- Steve Buscemi – Playing Barry Dort, who sounds like yer dad’s plumber but might be principal of Nevermore.
- Billie Piper – As Capri? Hopefully, it’s not an island-themed villain with flip-flops.
- Joanna Lumley – Grandmama. Absolutely brilliant casting. Let the sass commence.
- Thandiwe Newton – As Dr. Fairburn. She’ll probably diagnose someone as painfully edgy.
- Christopher Lloyd – Yep, the original Fester’s back. No clue who he’s portraying, but it better be wild.
Other mentions go to Owen Painter, Haley Joel Osment, and Frances O’Connor. No Percy Hynes White though – he’s been dropped for reasons best left Googled.
Trailers: Teasers That Actually Tease
Netflix finally released a teaser trailer featuring the Addams family, looking like they all share one eyeliner. No full trailer yet, but it’s better than nothing.
Additionally, an earlier announcement video that simply said, “Aye, it’s comin’.”
Will Wednesday Be Worth the Wait?
Let’s not pussyfoot around – the first season was a proper hit. If season 2 ditches the dreary love triangles and embraces the horror, it might just break the internet.
Mark it down in yer diary, stock up on popcorn and emo eyeliner, and brace yourselves for mayhem come August 2025.
Summary: She’s Back, And She’s Still Not Smiling
Forget your Bridgertons and your beige dramas — Wednesday’s back, and this time she’s bringing Gaga, werewolves on the prowl, cults, and hopefully less of that annoying teen angst. Netflix took its sweet time, but if they’ve learned anything it’s this — never underestimate a goth with a vendetta.
