Windows 10 Crashes the Party at the O2
BORK!BORK!BORK! Windows 10 continues to stick around long after its friends have departed, playfully flashing an update notification on a digital display at London’s O2 arena. The display was promoting the venue and some of the activities offered inside, including an indoor skydiving adventure.
Indoor Skydiving vs Windows Surprise Attack
We’d suggest indoor skydiving as a safer option compared to leaping out of a perfectly good airplane for those foolish enough to entertain the idea. However, seeing Windows 10 assert itself is far from ideal when you’re contemplating something thrilling. Picture a device insisting on a restart right before you depend on the technology to safely propel you upwards with a fan situated below. Not exactly optimal, right? Those aerial maneuvers would have an added excitement if Microsoft’s top product decided to power down for an unexpected update.
Meeting Madness to Aerial Anarchy
We’ve all experienced that meeting where Windows demands a restart in the middle of a presentation. It’s inconvenient, and even more so when you’re suited up in a jumpsuit, helmet on, and prepared to plunge into a column of air. Not that this equipment was part of the indoor skydiving session, of course. The digital display was showcasing an advertisement for the company beneath the notification. It’s a stark reminder of the significant work Windows 11 has ahead of it before it can push Windows 10 into the past.
Windows 10’s Tenacious Grip
As per Statcounter (not the most reliable source, but sufficient in the absence of official data from Microsoft), Windows 11 currently occupies a market share of just under 70 percent, while Windows 10 stubbornly maintains a hold at 30 percent. Windows 10 exited support last year, but you can keep the security update notifications active for a few more years through Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. Microsoft’s extension and the notification on O2’s digital display indicate that Windows 10 is in no rush to fade away. Perhaps Windows 11 could benefit from a boost of air from below to elevate it convincingly above its predecessor.
Summary: A Breath of Fresh Air for Windows
It seems Windows 10 just won’t take a hint, lingering like a stubborn mark on your favorite shirt. Perhaps it’s time for Windows 11 to get a strong push to finally surpass the old generation!
