Wear OS 6 Update Is Here-ish for the Galaxy Watch 7
After a reasonable wait for Samsung’s adaptation of Wear OS 6 (termed One UI 8 Watch), it appears that the update is finally starting to reach the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, although a slightly longer wait may be necessary.
Seen in South Korea and the US
Initially reported by Sam Mobile, the One UI 8 Watch free upgrade has begun to surface for users of Samsung’s previous-generation smartwatch in South Korea. Following a brief pause, the update has now also started to show up for users in the US.
When Will It Arrive in the UK?
While Samsung has yet to officially communicate any timeline regarding the update’s availability in specific regions, the fact that South Korea and the US have already been checked off the list indicates that Galaxy Watch 7 users in the UK are likely next, and it may just be a matter of days until the firmware begins its rollout.
Goodbye Beta Testing
The One UI 8 Watch beta was provided to the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra back in June, but this signifies the complete, stable launch that assures a far smoother overall experience, devoid of the common bugs and glitches you would expect during beta phases.

What About Galaxy Watch Ultra and Others?
As of now, there has been no official rollout of One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and earlier models, such as the Galaxy Watch 6, which will eventually receive the update – likely starting next month – have not even seen a beta version of the new software yet.
Anticipating New Features
With the One UI 8 Watch update on the horizon, the Galaxy Watch 7 is expected to offer enhanced health tracking, including Samsung’s new Bedtime Guidance feature which gives tailored advice to users on achieving better sleep. Additionally, a new Antioxidant Index feature is included.
The Galaxy Watch 8 and Friends
So far, the only wearables to sport a stable version of One UI 8 Watch since its release are the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, the former of which received a commendable four-star rating from us.
Not the Most Exciting, But Solid
Although it’s a fairly incremental device, the Galaxy Watch 8 remains one of the most feature-rich Wear OS watches on the market. To discover which other devices are vying for supremacy against the latest Galaxy Watches, be sure to check out our roundup of the best smartwatches available right now.
