The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold foldable smartphone has undergone a well-known stress evaluation, yielding dramatic outcomes.
Google’s newest premium foldable was recently assessed through the common series of torture trials by YouTube channel JerryRigEverything – and as per the host, it collapsed “disastrously”.
Scratch and Bend Examination
While the scratch evaluations offered no significant surprises (Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front display, aluminum casing, and surprisingly delicate internal display), the device reacted quite astonishingly during the physical bend examination.
The video underscores that Google doesn’t seem to have addressed the design flaw of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which buckled along the antenna line closest to the hinge under significant force. True to form, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold collapsed at the identical location.
Even more alarming – when the host straightens the device for a second attempt, the battery begins to hiss and emit smoke, effectively exploding. This marks the first instance of a phone doing this in the decade-long history of the channel.

Dust Examination
The presenter also evaluated the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s highly touted dust resilience. It’s the first foldable to feature an IP68 rating, but it doesn’t seem entirely equipped for the challenge.
Sprinkling dust onto the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s innovative hinge and manipulating it generates a horrific grinding noise, with the dust clearly working its way into the mechanism.
“I can decisively state that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold hinge is certainly not dustproof,” the presenter concludes, and it’s hard to argue with that.
Practical Recommendations
It’s essential to note that all of these evaluations are on the extreme side of the spectrum. If you’ve purchased a Pixel 10 Pro Fold, it’s very unlikely to start exploding on you, and it probably won’t flex in undesirable locations unless you intentionally attempt to do so.
